Organization and Planning
The speech

includes all things the audience hears, such as pitch, volume, tone, intensity,
rate, pause, vocal animation. This student avoids verbal clutter (“like”, “um”,
“ah”), tapping, nasal pull backs, etc. Pronunciation, articulation,
enunciation, and emphasis are part of vocal presentation. 10 points

Eye contact
engages the audience. Visual presentation includes facial expressions,
gestures, and movements. Student avoids visual distractions such as scratching,
swaying, leaning on wall, chewing gum, etc.

Content
Speech provides specific
content about the period and reformer. Stats, quotes and examples are included
giving evidence of in-depth research. 10 points
E.
General Effectiveness & Audience Appeal
The student demonstrates a consistent,
high quality through his or her presentation. Evidence of extensive preparation
and practice makes this an effective presentation. Student is dressed formally. 10 points

The speech
needs to be organized and educational. Students should explain the event in
detail through the selected speech format. Proof of research should be
apparent. Stipulations for speech formats are listed on back of this
sheet. Speech must have an intro, body
and conclusion.
B.
Vocal Presentation -15 Points
This
includes all things the audience hears, such as pitch, volume, tone, intensity,
rate, pause, vocal animation. This student avoids verbal clutter (“like”, “um”,
“ah”), tapping, nasal pull backs, etc. Pronunciation, articulation,
enunciation, and emphasis are part of vocal presentation.
C.
